Support and Encouragement

Volunteers offer the very best Support and Encouragement! 

Volunteers have incredible power, wielded by love, when they step in and offer to help out of their overflow of time and expertise.  We have found that love in action is best shared as part of a team.  Beauty can be recognized by others when individuals work together.  We believe that when we collaborate and encourage people who are loving and giving sacrificially to others connected with Ethiopia, we multiply everyone’s efforts. 

Here are some suggestions on how you might be able to be an encouragement and support as part of Embrace Compassion.  We currently have multiple opportunities for long term professional volunteers as well as drop-in helpers during our volunteer service sessions.

• Join our Facebook Volunteer board and watch for current opportunities to serve.

• Show up and be available for an evening work party or bring your bible study or small group to collectively tackle a task.

• Sew or craft needed items for our Bright Spot children or for our handcraft sales made by friends in Ethiopia and locally.

• Put together packages, gifts or services that are needed and shared with an American friend living in Ethiopia.

• Offer respite care for an adoptive family locally.

• Create notes and simple artwork to be sent to a child in our program.

• Lead a special project with research, funding and procuring the necessary supplies.

• Share a professional skill such as marketing, design, finance, event coordination, engineering, researching, fundraising, organizing, cooking, hosting, dental hygiene skills, vision, miscellaneous medical needs and so much more.

Most of our teamwork opportunities are offered stateside.  Approximately twice a year we travel to Ethiopia to implement the programing we work on all year and to build on the relationships we share in our village.  We offer this experience to volunteers who want to give of themselves in this way and submit to our team training.  Message Jennifer for our projected travel schedule.
